Can you get close-up, in focus pics of the break? I'm interested in the grain pattern. This is the best pic I can get with my gear. It appears to be cast of some kind which they probably all are. Almost looks like the crack has a parked finish in it. Could have been cracked before the install maybe. http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/15359E9goP/11555132.jpg Yep, definitely a bad part. Forcing it onto the shaft broke it, and they finished and used it that way. This makes me want to take a look at my mag catches when I get home - I'm out of town. If you have one that's cracked around the shaft, replace it. |

Shit brakes on Colts also. How short a stopping distance? Seriously, it would be cool if we had an ongoing thread posting what shit we broke on our ARs. No BS, no discussion, just posts with parts breakages. A thread with that kind of info would be nothing but a flame fest on this site.Would be cool to have one like that though. |

I broke my BUIS on my new at the time carbine. I was mad since I didnt have a optic to use. Plus I was at the cabin You should always carry a carry handle in your range bag or AR case. For what? The chance my Aimpoint AND Troy BUIS both go down ? In that case I'll use the Aimpoint as a rear ghost ring. |

I recently put together a new lower with a brand new Spike's LPK. The mag catch has a crack in the same spot where yours broke, but it did not break in half. I still need to get a new one but it doesn't have an upper so it is not super important. I didn't notice it until it was all together, are you sure it wasn't cracked/split prior to installation? Ian It could have been cracked already but I don't know. I did not look it over very good before putting it in the lower. |

And make sure the handle is zeroed at 25 yds. We zero ours at 36yds in the Corps. That way its dead on at the 300 meter setting. The army might do theirs at 25 yds. but that only puts you on at 200 meters. We do the 300 then if we gotta go to the 200 we switch it to 8/3-2 for A2s and 6/3-4 for carry handles |

Stag will make it right no questions asked. I broke a hammer pin using a .22 kit and they sent me a new one free of charge. They didn't even ask me how it broke. They have excellent CS. This. I had the same experience with a non-resetting trigger/disconnector. Stag is GTG. |
