started my first build last night. This is really a lot more fun than i thought it was going to be. Im gonna build this one from the ground up.
starting with a stripped rock river lower: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/DSC01657.jpg next, i got the mag release installed: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/DSC01660.jpg front take down pin. a little tricky. this is the spring and plunger that shot across the room. finally got it together fairly easy, but not really sure how to get it back apart in case i ever wanna strip it down: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/DSC01661.jpg put the safety and grip on. this was easy too. im not sure what to think of the tango down grip yet, but am not sure how much i am going to like it yet. ill have to wait till it all comes together and play with it for a little while. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/DSC01663.jpg the final job for now was putting the magpul enhanced trigger guard on. the front was pinned using a small allen bolt instead of a spring plunger like an original. the rear was held in by a roll pin. it was a ***** to hammer in and i deformed the top of it slightly. i need to get a roll pin punch to countersink it just a tad and it'll never go anywhere: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/DSC01665.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/DSC01667.jpg the deformed roll pin: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb299/rojapar/trigger.jpg more to come... |
