| I own a LWRC full rifle and I'm looking to build another AR as project gun and to get more familiar with AR's in general. I did some looking and I like the SLR15 lower receivers and I put in for the wait list but my local dealer has a CMMG and Smith & Wesson lower receiver in stock. My question is should I wait on the SLR15 lower or get either the CMMG or Smith? What's the general consensus on CMMG quality? I'm looking to piece together a no-expense spared rifle! |

This site claims to have 144 CY6 (SLR15) lowers in stock. A few other brands too, such as RRA. Don't bother to call them asking about the Armalites. They had two last night and none today. I just missed out. GL |

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Have you ever done buisness with them? Haven't done business with them. I did call about the Armalites and got a curt reply. Which I find odd because their site claims to have other lowers in stock and you'd think he'd have said something like: "sorry, we're out of Armalites, but we do have some x, y, and zs." Websites should say "out of stock" if they're out of stock - not "call for availability" and then act put out when hundreds of people call about something they don't have in stock. I'd give them a call though if you want an SLR15. GL |

So the Smith&Wesson over the CMMG? I was planning on getting the SLR15 lower anyway and figured if I didn't like/want it then I would just sell it. I recently picked up a S&W lower. The had a CMMG and Del-Ton for less and one of those what what I had intended to get. Once I compared the S&W to the other two, I paid the extra 25 bucks gladly. The finish was much, much better on the S&W. I am a metal worker..so to me, it was well worth the extra. ............now if I can just get the other pieces for it. |
| I think I might just go get the S&W that my local dealer has and get my SLR15 lower straight from the manufacturer. I'm a stickler for customer service and it sounds like they might be lacking a bit. Besides, I can wait a month. It's not like LPK's are in supply anywhere anyway. |
