Hello all, just completed my first build. Machined my own 80% lower, 16" chrome lined, PSA upper and BCG, Midwest full float flattop, etc.
I'm starting with Mbus sights only before I decide on a Red Dot. Any suggestions of getting a rough zero to get this thing on paper at 25 or 50 yards before I head to the range?

Thanks!!

Pull bcg any ch. Using a rest, at a decent distance center an object through the bore and adjust sights to be on object or center up the crosshairs.

Set to mechanical zero and go shoot.

Yep, boresight is quick and easy.

When you get your red dot, you can adjust teh dot to be in line with your (zeroed iron) sight picture at home too.

Yup.  Whether it's an optic or iron sight this is what I do.  I start at 25 yards and use a big paper target.  Then move out to whatever you want to zero at.

Thanks to all for the great advice!! Used the sight down the barrel/match to sight method.  Just got back from the range...started at 25 yards inside 3" right away!
Aprreciate the quick support
