Well, not completely done, but close enough that I wanted to show it off. Still needs an optic and some rail covers, but that's about all that's left. This was my first attempt at a build and I'm really pleased with how it came out. Started with a lower from Good Times Outdoors in Ocala,FL. I posted this when I got and got lots of different opinions on the gator head logo from loving it to hating it. It turned out they only did 100 like this and I'm glad I got one. These guys are now ARFCOM Industry partners under the name Core15rifles.com.

Next was a Daniel Defense LPK and DSA buffer tube and spring. I also put on a MagPul ASAP sling plate. Many thanks to the ARFCOM Build it Yourself forum, I built along with the video there and had the lower together in an hour or so.

Next was an A4 upper, Bravo Company BCG and GunFighter charging handle

Then came a Daniel Defense 16" CHF barrel with carbine length gas system, a YHM low profole gas block and a MagPul ACS stock...

I then put on a Troy 10" MRF free float handguard. I went with this because I had the same one on my M&P15T and liked it. It locks on nice and tight, uses the standard barrel nut and requires no special tools to put on. It doesn't hurt that it's about $100 less than some of the other brands either....

At this point I test fired the rifle to make sure I had it right. I put about 40 rounds down range without an issue. I know it's not a true test of the gun, but it showed me that I hadn't completely screwed up anywhere along the way. Today, the Big Brown truck brought me a set of Troy flip up iron sights. I went with the new DOA reticle on the rear to see how it compares to the standard round reticle. It seems pretty to easy to get a sight picture thru it, but some range time will decide if I really like it.....

I'm doing a carbine class locally in a few weeks and I'll probably run this gun with the iron sights part of the day to give it a real test. I learned a ton putting this gun together myself and I'm pretty sure I have full fledged BRD, because I already have tons of ideas for my next build bouncing around in my head. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful! I also want to build mine from the ground up.But buying the proper needed tools for it will make my build cost more.
