All right as the title says I am planning my first build and have a few questions that I need answered.

Planning on using a BCM or DD 16" mid length barrel with low profile gas block.  Are either of those two barrels already set up for being pinned or set screw?  Also which is a more secure method of attachment?

Will be using a DD M4A1 RIS II as a rail.  First what manufacture or kind of low profile gas block would work in combination with this rail?  I have looked around the archives but could not locate anything other than someone mentioning that it uses a gas block but not give a description.  Are all gas blocks created equal or are there some that I should stay away from?  Is the install difficult or easy?

With upper receivers I am thinking of either a BCM upper or a Aero upper.  The BCM is $93.95 complete and I can purchase the Aero for about $80 complete.  Which would be a better buy?

Thanks for taking the time to look this over.

I used a BCM SS410 for my first build, and aside from the gas port hole, IIRC I believe there were dimples for the set screws.  With that said, set screws are an easier way to secure the gas block, and it's a pretty easy install, set screws for the gas block secure the block to the barrel, and the gas pin secures the gas tube.

For the most part, most low profile gas blocks should fit underneath the rail, I'm using a Vltor low pro for my next build under a 7" Spike's BAR Rail.  Hope that helps.
