Hi guys im new here from wonderful gun friendly state of CA. Hope this is the right section to post, I apologize in advance if it is not.  Just working on completing my first ground up build.

A bit of my background.. I'm used to bolt action so a little new to the AR platform. I already have a bcm 14.5 though, this time around I wanted something like an "SPR" . I don't compete or anything(although I might try 3 gun later, hope this rig will work for that), just an enthusiast that shoots 1-2 times a month. I'm quite new to guns in general, bought my first gun in 2011. My normal range is paper to 100, then steel at each 100 to 600.

After weeks of research I ordered all the parts that I needed and completed the upper last night.

Vltor MUR 1s upper - Picked this because my other rifle has one, and I like it. I don't know why. same reason why matthew mcconaughy drives lincolns I guess.
Larue Stealth 18" - this was highly debated in all the forums I researched. competitors were BCM 410 SS, WOA, Rainier, BHW, Compass Lake, ballistic advantage, green mountain, ar15performance..
in the end what swayed me was AR15.com lol. Guess you all have another fanboy :) Seriously though, I research the sht out of everything I buy, and Larue came out on top. The sale price helped quite
                              a bit too.
BCM KMR 15" - Don't know, found a good price. Its the aluminum one, not magnesium. Still amazingly light though.

Rifle empty in the mock up with BCG and CH weighs about 7.5 lbs. for reference the 14.5 rifle weighs about 7 empty but with all accessories.

I just threw it on a old lower to see how it would look. Now I need to finish the lower which im building with an 80% cerakoted armor black, geiselle G2S and magpul ACS-L

still need to install the A2 FH, but im not 100% sure if I should get a muzzle brake.

then optics and sights.. really not sure what I want to put on there yet, I have a spare m223(600 BDC) I will use til I decide.. I know I definitely want the Larue mount though.

Looking forward to learning a lot more here and maybe participating in this "MOA all day thing" (the only thing I know about it is that its dominated by Larue, and another big factor in my decision)

any tips, product recommendations, constructive criticism are more than welcome. I'll also be reloading for this, because I am a cheapskate.

I'm going to go crack open a beer and rub up my tri-tip now. Thanks AR15 and Mark Larue!
