After lurking for a while and shopping around a bunch I took the plunge and ordered a stripped lower and the lpk.
Here is what the very nice mail man dropped off first. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_owdIU6kd9qo/TXrmnX1tLWI/AAAAAAAAASM/xnZ15hGDj7A/s640/2011-03-10_18-30-14_559.jpg And then I got a call today that my FFL had a little something come in the mail from AIM for me: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_owdIU6kd9qo/TXrh-01TRsI/AAAAAAAAASI/TGykdnytdxQ/s640/2011-03-11_17-50-30_679.jpg And since I have no patience at all, I waster no time when I got home to turn all my nice new stuff into this: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_owdIU6kd9qo/TXrhxP2bjlI/AAAAAAAAASE/ix5_HI07Tbo/s640/2011-03-11_20-35-33_780.jpg All in all I am pretty happy with the job I did. The only disappointed is when I was tapping in the roll pin into the trigger guard the finish around the hole chipped a bit, but hey, it is a gun not a piece of art so I am sure it won't be the first blemish. I also still need to order a stock wrench so I can torque down the castle nut and stake it, but other than that it works so I am happy. Now I just need AIM to get those Spikes uppers back in stock and I can go try her out. |

Nice start. What kind of upper you going with? Spikes LE mid-length with MOE hand guard unless I get a killer deal on one with a 12'' BAR. No optics for now, just getting a MBUS or Troy rear flip up until I am proficient with that. Going to the Orlando Gun show next weekend though so depending what they have there my plans may change. Just trying to remind myself to stay away from any booths selling more stripped lowers....must remember one build at a time.... |
