I have owned a Colt CAR-A3 HBAR Elite for a while. Always have fun shooting it. My wife recently got me a membership with a gun club that is close to our house.
They do a bunch of gun-and-run and 3 gun events. So, I decided to build my first AR "Carbine" from scratch to get involved with the club. I started with a Spike's Tactical lower, Spike's enhanced LPK, Spikes T2 buffer/spring/tube combo, Magpul ACS-L stock/B.A.D. Lever/MIAD grip. Here's where the problem is.....I want to keep the upper and lower from the same manufacturer for my first build. I'm having a little trouble finding a Spike's stripped upper anywhere. I've searched on here and found nothing on them... I've sent emails out, but have not heard anything back..... Anyone have any leads on one of these things? Thanks for any help!! |

Don't be so concerned with a matching upper. I was all about it too when i did my first build. Turns out that the Mega Arms upper fit my YHM lower, BETTER then the original YHM upper/lower combo.
Happened to work out in my favor and it shoots awesome. A little wiggle, but not much, I'll call it a tolerance wiggle as its actually sometimes a chore to properly set the front pin. VERY smooth, here are the measurements: Front lower: ..4995 Front upper: .499 Rear Lower: .500 Rear Upper: .499 Space between receiver halves is .004 at the widest point. Mega Arms machines for a few companies, and there stuff is awesome. |
