Just bought my first AR today, a DPMS. I've been browsing here for a while, but decided now would be the appropriate time to sign up. It shoots great but if i twist on it it seems to be just a tiny bit loose where the upper joins the lower, I've shot other AR's before but never noticed this looseness, although you have to apply quite a bit of pressure to make it wiggle so i'm not suprised I didn't notice. Just wondering if this is normal? It dosn't affect the way the gun shoots or feels in the slightest though. I put a few hundred rounds through it without incident and it seemed to shoot beautifully. The plan is to keep it as is, but I don't know how long I am gonna be able to stick to that.

Welcome to the board.  Welcome to the disease.

There are things you can certainly purchase that will help

Here are a couple of items that can fix you up if the play is bothering you.

bushmaster parts

accu wedge

Welcome aboard macarb!

The wiggle is normal. But some rifles have more wiggle than others. If it really bothers you you can find a little rubber piece called an Accuwedge that fits under the rear take down pin boss. It'll remove the wiggle, but really isn't necessary. Don't pay much more than about $3 for it, though.

Awsome! The wiggle dosn't really bother me a whole lot, but heck for a couple bucks I may as well go for it. I can't really think of much else right now as far as questions go, but I'm sure I will have them so be prepared.

Pics will be posted as soon as I can get my camera back. My buddy is coming up with his AK in the near future so mabey a little in action photoshoot is in order!!!

Post pics.
Now that that's out of the way, a little slop is not unusual.  The other guys have given you some fixes for it if you really need it.
Welcome to BRD, and remember to be especially careful when you are on a body of water with your ARs.

welcome to the BRD. Congrats on your purchase, but Be careful the BRD can cost you lots of money. I just bought my first AR last week and have already spent almost a grand on accessories. But it is all worth it.
