Hey everyone,
Since I have been wanted to build an AR-15 for a while now I have lurked here researching but just registered. Hopefully I am posting this in the correct forum. With the recent "panic" I decided I should get started and went ahead and pulled the trigger on a PSA stripped lower and DD LPK. I am pretty confident I won't have trouble putting it together with the guides here and a friend that has done it before. The upper is a different animal though. Basically I think I have three options: 1) Buy a completed upper 2) Buy an action block, armorer’s wrench, and other tools and do it myself 3) Have a gunsmith put the parts together for me. Since I am pretty sure this will be my only build (I know I know, no one ever build just one) I would really like to assemble the upper with the parts I want, but I want it put together the right way. So right now, I am leaning towards a gunsmith. Any idea how much that would run, or how to find a quality gunsmith? Also, if anyone is interested or has any suggestions on my components, this is what I am hoping to put together as I find the parts. My budget is pretty flexible, and I am in no rush since as I said, I want this build to be exactly what I want: -PSA stripped lower -DD LPK -Vitor A5 -Magpul MOE -Viltor MUR or Rainier ultramatch upper -BCM BFH 14.5" Mid Length (LIGHT WEIGHT) Barrel -Centurion carbine cutout rail -BCM complete BCG and CH -Magpul RVG Thanks for the help! |
