I am a noob and looking at building my first AR-15 instead of buying a complete rifle for the sake of saving money.
I have been doing research into upper and lower receivers and had a few questions: If I purchase a complete upper and complete lower, what else would I need to complete the gun? (tools, kits, other parts, etc.) I am leaning towards a complete DS Arms ZM4 A3 upper and a complete Spikes Tatical lower, any reviews/opinions on these manufacturers? DSA Upper http://www.dsarms.com/p-12708-dsa-zm4-a3-flat-top-complete-barreled-upper-receiver-assembly-16-barrel-mid-length-hg-chrome-mol.aspx Spikes Tactical Lower http://shop.doasales.net/Spikes-Tactical-Punisher-Lower-Receiver-w-MOE-Stock-STPUNMOE.htm Any advice or help is welcomed and appreciated. |

Is that barrel even chrome lined? Look into a higher quality upper. The bolt and barrel are the heart and soul of the weapon. Don't cheap out on those parts. USGI type triggers are a crap shoot. That smooth out the more you shoot them. Any recommendations on a different upper? I like the MOE front guard and would prefer to buy an upper with that installed here is another alternative that has more accessories included (BCG, charging handle, rear sight) http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/barreled-upper-assemblies/psa-16-cmv-cl-premium-m4-moe-blk-upper-w-m16-bcg-charging-handle-rear-mbus.html |

Add a Lower Receiver and a rear site and you're gtg. PSA |

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid noob question...does a front post sight interfere with mounting/using a red dot sight? Quoted:

If you desire an A2 posted upper then check out BCM. Aero has some good prices on free float uppers right now. I apologize in advance if this is a stupid noob question...does a front post sight interfere with mounting/using a red dot sight? No problem. |

PSA Agree 100% if your gonna go cheap and reliable go PSA they have great deals...and dont be afraid of the models that are marked down for (I forgot the correct term) damage. It usually isnt that bad maybe a nick or something....still fully functional though. |
