 I have an RRA complete lower assembled and an RRA upper with RRA BCG, non M-4. Still need barrel, handguard, gas block etc. I want to purchase a 16" mid length barrel. I want to know, when I decide to get the barrel does it have to be headspaced and will the barrel already have an extension? I understand it can be an M-4 extension without causing any problems, but don't fully understand the headspacing issue.

| Order you barrel with extension and delta ring, that way your ready to go when it arrives. Don't worry about headspace, the barrel has an index pin at the 12 o'clock position that is inserted into a groove in the upper receiver. The pin seats only so far so you can't control headspace. Your biggest concern will be lining up a gas tube hole correctly so the tube slides smoothly into the upper and enters the carrier key centered so it doesn't wear off center and cause a gas leak down the road. |
