I was well pleased with my new Bushmaster M-F style carbine, with the exception of one thing. The Magazine!! he A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a couple of cheap mags from sportsmans guide, and it is a good thing I did. They both functioned flawlessly. So what should I do? Should I contact Bushmaster and ask for a new mag? Are their mags considered good quality? Otherwise the rifle shot good. It was my first time firing an AR-15, so I lost my AR virginity!!h.gif |

I have a similar problem with a non USGI mag I accidently bought from auctionarms before I realized the difference between USGI and nonUSGi mags. The difference is that on mine, the last round never loads because it squirts out of the magazine on the back stroke of the bolt. Then the bolt holds open with the round laying in the chamber. The follower on this magazine is green, so I thought it was at least a good follower... However the green followers on my USGI mags have longer 'supports' underneath that seem to be the difference. Do you guys think my problem is with the follower? Will a Magpul follower fix this problem? The seller of this has told me he'll replace it with a USGI mag for $10, but I already spent $20 on this non USGI mag. I figured I just keep it and buy a new follower instead of putting more money into it. $30 for a USGI mag is a little crazy. |
