I want a fixed rear sight on my dissipator with an Eotech mounted in front of it. I really like the look of the LMT, but it's pricey. Is there another manufacturer that makes one like a chopped A2 carry handle, or should I just chop a carry handle?

do it yourself. i cut mine with a hack saw, touched it up with a file and emery cloth, and finished with flat black spray paint. i suppose you could spend a little more and get some alumahyde, but i'm not concerned with looks.

Should I just get a knockoff handle from eBay, or is it worth the extra cash for a name brand? Also, what about the RRA Dominator mount?

i used a Bushmaster handle. the import carry handles have poor quality adjustment components in my expierence. i don't use any EOTechs currently, but when i did, i prefered QD risers (Larue or ADM) to fixed risers like the RRA. That said, it isn't a bad setup if you want an A2 rear site and prefer lower 1/3 cowitness.

I used a Dominator2 and loved it. Simple, sturdy, lower 1/3 witness

Keep an eye out on the EE. I see LMT BUIS go for between 50-60% of their MSRP all the time.

Thanks for clearing things up for me. I will keep an eye out on the EE and see what comes up first, thanks.

I just bought a brand new one. Botach Tactical. $59.95.

Link

Order to my door in about four days.

Its the real deal. Shipping was quick and fairly cheap. And yes, I ordered from Botach. They have really cleaned up their act.

I've seen brand new LMT rear sights for as little as $47.89 on Ebay from a seller with a 99.9% rating. There are more than 10 available right now from the seller.

That's the truth. I have placed 5 orders in the past 2 months from them. All orders were shipped quick and no problems.

To each their own but I do not see a need for a windage and elevation adjustable sight on a BUIS (if it was your primary then it would be a little more understandable... a little).  If you have a carrying handle then I too would suggest chopping it down.
For what it is worth, I like the fixed BUIS and went with the DD 1.5 sight. Everything you need and nothing you don't (extra weight, extra complication, wheel adjustments to move out of place). YMMV.

if they changed that to a same plane aperture it would be perfect.  a chopped carry handle lets you use either aperture by changing the elevation wheel.

The main reason I want the fixed A2 sight is so I can teach myself to shoot irons better. With that sight I have full A2 function and the ability to run optics. I have a folding BUIS on my other rifle and never use it.

Here's my LMT BUIS on my M4 clone carbine with Aimpoint, it is an old sight I got six years ago when I bought my LMT carbine

This was an old picture of my BUIS six years ago on my LMT carbine with my old model EOTech 551

No problems with mine, it's a very tough robust sight and works exactly the same as a detachable carry handle, also lighter than a carry handle.
