I have a BM flattop wtin 20" barrel. I had to remove the fSB to mount my new free float tube but I couldn't get the FSB pins out so I cut it off. Then I found out that a new FSB wouldn't just mount cuase the pin holes wouldn't match. I thought about a clamp on gas block, but it didn't seam right. So I decided to mount the FSB, line up the holes as close as possble, run a drill into it, and tapped them to 8x32. It's a little ugly but its working. I need to coat or finish them so it will look better. Also some of the unfinished barrel is exposed to I need to coat it anyway. Any suggestions? By the way, with the new set up my average groups dropped from 2.5 inches to 1.5 inches at 100 yards with handloads. |
