I have been looking on the internet for a few weeks
now for a 5, 6, or 7X fixed power lighted reticle scope
for a 20".

Does anyone make a reasonable quality/
reasonably priced scope in this configuration?

I suppose I can go with a 2 -7X, if I have to, but
I was wanting to eliminate the potential failure
of the zoom mechanism, if possible. I have
googled & looked at the major mfg's websites,
but I find few with lighted reticles. I was hoping
Burris, Pentax, or Leupold made something like
this, or another mfg of similar quality & reputation.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Johnny C!

IOR makes a 6x fixed illuminated.  It's a little pricy, but the MP-8 reticle is nice, and it comes with some quality rings.

IOR has a solid reputation for first-rate glass and durability.

Who here has ever seen a failure of the zoom in an adjutable scope?  I have not.  You must be harder on your scopes than the Marine Corps who has gone to variable sniper scopes lol.

I guess my mind set is to eliminate as many moving
parts as possible from anything where my life may
be dependant... this goes for my aircraft & my firearms.
I don't like adjustable sights on my handguns, either.
I have never had any fail either, but I don't want it
to happen when I need it most...

And I'm not asking about a sniper scope, either...

US Optics has a couple 4x a 6x and quite a few high power scopes.

While it is a little lower than you asked about, IOR makes a 4x M1 scope.  But they also make a 6x M2 scope as well.  The glass is really good on them, even if they are slightly older optic designs.  The only thing about the M1 (I haven't used a 6x IOR), is the eye relief is a bit short.  I don't mind it myself on ARs, although it could be a problem on higher recoiling rifles.

While they don't offer it anymore, they used to offer one with the Dragunov reticle.  I personally really like it and bought one used specifically for the reticle.  The CQB is pretty good as well.  I have never given the MP-8 reticle a try, but I don't see any problems with it and would probably like it if I gave one a try.
