[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Flash Hider Caliber Question

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but does it matter whether a flash hider's caliber is .223 or 5.56. You can mount a .223 flash hider on a 5.56 barrel and safely shoot 5.56 ammo with it unlike shooting 5.56 ammo through a .223 barrel correct?

The bullet diameters are identical (.224").

What Lew said ^.....Bullet diameter is king.... .224 is the diameter of the bullet whether its a .223 or 5.56
