Im new to the AR game. I have a flash hider that I need installed but unsure how to do it. I know you need the wrench, but is there a torque spec?  I hand tightened it onto the threads and the vents are on the underside of the barrel.

What flash hider?  Are you using a crush washer?

Yes. I do have the crush washer as well. It's your basic "bird cage" A2.

Just tighten it... hand tighten it and then torque it until the vents face UPWARD (that is to prevent the gasses from being directed downward and kicking up all sorts of dirt and shit when you are prone.  Sometimes the crush washer isn't correct for your barrel and the orientation of the FH will be off but then you need to get another crush washer or be handy with the metal file.

The TM is available on this site.
You tighten to hand tight then go a minimum of ΒΌ turn and no more than 1-1/4 turns to align the FS.

Crush washer and if you have to, you can add a peel washer in between to make the alignment a little easier.

All the above and a wrench thin enough to fit the A2 flat spots. I just did one, it takes more torque than you would think to crush the washer.
