For hiding flash the phantom is better, check the CA rules though, they suck and I'm not as familiar with them as I used to be.

The Old Top here:  The best on the market--Smith Enterprses--VORTEX FLASH HIDER.  The Phantom appears to be visibally the same as DPMS/Panther Arms- -Panther Flash Hider at a cheeper price.  The VORTEX  is THE BEST .  Personally I'm going for BIG noise.  My 24" tack-driven upper's got the JP Enterprises Cannon Break(Really loud) and I  am replcing  the 3 prong NAM  F/H with a Miculek M/B on the Colt SP-1 upper.  When I time my shots to go off JUST befor the shooters on either side that report usually shakes them out of the X ring.--ONLY KIDDING.  THANX-the OLD TOP

Spend some extra bucks and get an FSC556 by Primary Weapons Systems.  They run $90-$100 depending on where you get them from.  They are the best Flash hider/Compensator I have ever used!  Even better, they are not considered flash hiders so they are CA legal!

I have one on my .223/5.56 upper and the difference between the Phantom I had on previously was truly amazing.  I recommend them for anything, even SBR's.  They look mean too!

Here's a link, check out the vids and good luck!

As long as you have a bullet button, you can put whatever flash hider you want on there.  As for me, I use Vortex.  It is the best flash hider available.... as stated above.

+1 on the AAC blackout.  I have one on my "fixed-mag" AR.  But if you're trying to avoid "evil features" in an effort to drop mags - then the DNTC comp is the way to go.

PRK laws regarding flash suppressors are different than the feds.

Technically wearing sunglasses could be considered a flash suppressor by one of the 58 DA'sheight=8
Flash suppressor - Any device designed, intended, or that functions to
perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from
the shooter's field of vision.
