I have a brand new DPMS barrel and I am trying to put a brand new A2 flash suppressor on it. I cannot get the slots to line up properly (slots up and flat portion down). It wants to stop upside down. I have tried a lock washer and a peel washer with the same results.  Any suggestions?

Yep, you'll need to peel the peel washer or turn a half turn to crush the crush washer.

Heat it up(the peel washer) some with a torch or try a lighter I think they are made with loctite, it smells the same as burnt loctite when I heated mine up. When you see it smoke or flare up, you then can see them split. Peel one layer at a time.

M4-TUNA's directions are spot on. Those layers are THIN so you may need a sharp blade to get in there to remove one layer at a time.
