Guys I need some input here.  This is my first attempt at doing a bit of AR smithing.  I am installing a Troy low profile gas block on a Bushmaster carbine witht he 5.5" flash suppressor.  How do I get this suppressor off?  Is it pinned?  What is the best method to get this off and on for that matter.

Thanks,

Cuda

It is probably pinned and welded. Look for a weld. Then get a dremel tool or something to grind off the weld and then take out the pin. And then you should be able to take off the flash hider.

As far as I can tell it is not welded on.  It is the 5.5" Car-15 flash suppressor.  There does not appear to be anywhere to grip the flash suppressor in order to remove.  Further suggesstions?

Could be Silver soldered on. Which means you will have to heat it to around 1200 degrees or more, think MAP gas and Oxygen or a butane torch.

Best bet would be to send it to ADCO Firearms or Kurt's Kustom Firearms as you will have to permanently install a hider back on unless you get a $200 tax stamp for a SBR.
