[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Flash Supressor

I am getting ready to buy a new upper and I can not decide if I want a threaded barrel or not. Does the flash supressor affect accuracy or is there any benifit to having one?

AFAIK a flash suppressor doesn't affect accuracy. when I had my barrel threaded, the A2 FH only changed the POI (a couple of inches or less at 100m) but the accuracy was the same.

+1 to no change in accuracy (h/w, some say that some FH, like the Vortex does through its design, but i have not seen any difference)

i'd go w/ the threaded bbl and a FH--works pretty well, esp at night; furthermore, the threaded bbl adds options for you to even add on a muzzle device

I had a phantom on my M4gery and it was zero'd perfectly. Then I swiched to a KAC flash hider and my groups were about 4" higher.

I have noticed a slight increase in accuracy when I went with the Vortex. Allbeit it was only a slight tigtening of the groups but it was noticeable. I agree that a threaded barrel gives you much more muzzle device options.
