What has worked well for me is Nyogel on the threads, and DeOxit on electrical contact cleaning and lubing.

Some oils degrade some o-rings.

Those are both great products! I tried to gear the recommendations more toward things that people are more likely to have already. Right or wrong, most people won't spend extra on stuff to maintain their flashlights (even though they may have some serious coin tied up in that light).

Hi-Vel, Where are you getting your nyogel? I can get deoxit locally at Frye's but I haven't seen nyogel locally.
