| Shopping around for a flip sights combo.. Anyone know of any good deals ? |
| Look at the new Magpul MBUS Pro folding, and offset folding sights on their website. The are ultra slim, made of steel and Melonite coated, and strong as hell. Price is middle of the road, ie +/- $200 for the set, but I have not seen any other in their class. I will be retro-fitting my rifles with them shortly. I have actually seen them fitted on an AR and they are definitely top shelf. I'll put it this way, they are the first back up sights I have ever considered spending $200 for. |

I'm running the Magpul G2 BUIS. The set was only $70. I'm sure the Pros are very nice as well, I just can't see spending that amount on them with the Gen 2's work just as well. +1 I just bought and received the Gen 2 MBUS i got them for just under $70.00 at Primary arms on sale. I am running a red dot with magnifier so the BUS are for that purpose only when SHTF and the red dot isnt working i can use them. Still dependable. |

I run a Vortex VMX-3T and Sparc II which co-witnesses perfectly with the back up sights. |

I found inexpensive offsets at the gun shows and they have worked well. But I was never really happy with them. They worked but just so so. These new sights are imho the first sights worth the money. I sure as HELL wouldn't pay what Troy wants for their metal sights. And the fact that the MBUS Pro sights are very thin profile allows them to be mounted under many optics that would not be possible with the polymer and other options. This applies when using the regular BUIS location on top of the rail/upper. jmtcw |

I would buy them but idk when ill be building my next AR |
I bought 2 sets of Magpul Pro MBUIS sights from DSG Arms for $125 each. That was last year during the panic and I thought that was a great deal. At $109 from PSA, I can't imagine them getting an cheaper. BTW I have them on my AR as primary sights for now and I also put them on my son's dedicated .22lr. He can hit a 2.5 inch steel gong at 50 yards with them. YMMV depending on your eye sight LOL
EDIT: I should add that my son is only 9 years old. |
