| I have a Rock River Tactical CAR AR-15. I want to install a Troy free float forend in place of the standard 7" hand guard. However, instead of a new 7" rail, I would like to install a 9" or 10" rail. Is this possible? Or do I need to get a 7"? If it is possible, would I need to install a low-profile gas block under the longer rail? I have no interest in keeping the old sight post; I would rather replace it with a flip-up sight.
