I noticed that, as yet, there aren't any moderators in the A2 forum section.
If possible, I'd like to nominate a few from the retro crowd to be moderators in here (And in the Retro forum section as well, perhaps) so that we can stay sort of 'self moderating'.

I'd have to say that guys like TexSquirrel and Morg308, to name a few, would probably be nice to have around here as moderators...

retroangles started the request for this forum, and I wonder if it might be nice to have him on the list as well?

Thanks for the nomination, that is really cool for the acknowledgement! I can think of far more deserving people than myself! I am just glad to see this forum is here now, and we have a place to discuss and enjoy an important evolution in the AR15 design.

I say no one who voted to keep A2s out of Retro should be a mod here in the A2 section .

Clearly, based on some of the pictures posted here and questions asked, the "A2" as defined here would have been inappropriate for the Retro Forum.  If we were speaking of military A2s or clones thereof it might have been a good fit, but I thnk we will see much more of the "tacitcool A2" before too long.  The A2 is indeed old and new at the same time.  It's indentity is still forming.

That would be ironic being the Staff determined that A2's should not be in the Retro section...

Yep. If the Mods had wanted A2's in the Retro Forum, I'm sure that's where they'd be. This setup seems to be working out nicely though. Gives the A2's plenty of room for expansion

Not really the point about who voted for what.

I picked those guys because they seem to know quite a bit about the subject matter, they're fairly level headed mostly....

'Angles started the request, without him starting that we probably would be sitting here in this forum, sooo.....

Get the most knowlegable person who wants to do it.  It should be easy enough to make A-2 the quality forum that retro is.  Not as much research required and not as hard (expensive) to get decent examples.  Will need someone with a good camera and skills for pics especially if someone would like to do an A-2 upper and lower reference guide.  Probably a perfect project for a college student needing a real good research paper.  Should be an easy A+ especially if female professor.  Might draw some women into the hobby also.  Could team up with someone with a couple different authentic A-2's and kill two birds with one shot.

While not at all a bad idea, moderators for this forum don't have to be historical experts. They just need to be able to lock trolls out and redirect inappropriate topics to the appropriate forum.

Great suggestions, if the three agree to do so.

“I say no one who voted to keep A2s out of Retro should be a mod here in the A2 section”

Vindictive, at best.  Might miss out on a willing knowledgeable mod, at worst.

“If the Mods had wanted A2's in the Retro Forum, I'm sure that's where they'd be. This setup seems to be working out nicely though. Gives the A2's plenty of room for expansion”

True!

“Get the most knowlegable person(s) who want(s) to do it.”

Win, win.

This is where we participants can assist with the ‘REPORT’ button.

“no Gray Bias is also somthing to consider ..”

Now that we have an ‘A2 Builds’ forum, let’s bury the A1/A2 hatchet and move on to make this genre as valuable as the ‘Retro’ forum.

At this point, I’d just like for us to agree/settle where to go for or place the variants (Izzys, BHD, C series, etc.).
