Any trick to installing a forward assist?

What size punch do I need.  Tried using a brownells Ar15/M16 punch, no luck.  Went through the how to thread, but didn't see a forward assist being assembled.  Can anyone point out which page it may be on

I just can't seem to get that roll pin in.

I have no idea what punch you are referring to.

Use a 1/16" roll pin and punch.  Depress the FA slightly to align the hole and seat the pin

Yes.  seen the video.  I can start the pin but then it just seems to stop.  I'm depressing the forward assist all the way.

The punch I have is flat on one side to install lower reciever parts.  Not sure on size.  It's the punch that comes with their essential parts kit.

Dont depress the F/A all the way in.  You only need to depress it lightly about a 1/4"
