One of my coworkers is trying to convince me that the electrochemical cleaning devices, such as the Outers Foul Out just can't be matched when it comes to cleaning. The idea of puting an electrically charged rod in my barrel just doesn't sit well with me. I was wondering if any of you have tried one of these and how it works. ALSO, has anyone had any bad experiences with one of these electrochemical devices. |
| I read on another board the Foul Out kits are the best way to remove heavy lead and copper deposits that are difficult to get out with solvents and scrubbing. It's easier on the barrel and you don't risk corroding the barrel with solvents. I too am wondering if these are worth the $100 or so price tag. |

I've got a foul out kit I used twice plus gallon of the copper remover. I bought it to clean a pitted barrel and it works fine. However I don't use it on regular basis. I'm a jb paste guy now. However if you want to get a barrel absolutely clean, it is the only way to fly. Even after using JB paste there will be some copper left in the edge of the grooves. Foul out get them out easy. PM me I'll sell it for 1/2 what I paid. |
