Received a couple A1 uppers yesterday.  Not quite what I ordered so these will be going back tomorrow.  Although they were not as described, it IS all older stuff... no forge code A1 uppers, recessed front lug holes and the barrels are MP marked under the FSB, one with a "C" and one with "12".  Also the gas tube on the barrel with the "12" might be an early style, at least the bend is close to the barrel nut?

Also the condition wasn't as good as what I was expecting.  Lots of dings and scrapes, rack numbers stamped and engraved on the uppers, bent dust covers, excessive finish wear, etc.  One was refinished in gray at some point and its worn too.

It's just soooo hard to send anything back, I would probably keep them if I hadn't spent so much on them.

Soooooo, I'm on the lookout again..

[Edit for pics]:  As always, the parts look better in the pics than they do in person:

Were they from a vendor or private party?  If it was a vendor, I'm sure we'd all appreciate knowing who.

Thanks,

At least take some pictures of them before you send them back, so we can see what you had, providing you haven't already mailed them today.

Thanks for the pics.  Boy, they are pretty tough looking!

Private or vendor?

I like that beat up look also, but you had to have got a good deal on those uppers to keep them.

Which vendor?

I would keep the one with original finish..............seems like I only find the ugly "painted" ones like the upper that has the tape on it.

I sent them both back as there were other parts involved.   I thought about reselling and/or breaking them down and listing them on the EE, but wasn't sure if I would get my money back and didn't want to lose anymore $$ than I already have. (shipping both ways).  Besides, for what the parts would have to go for, I wouldn't want any members disappointed with me after receiving the items.
