I am contemplating a free float forearm install on a Colt LE6920 factory upper assembly. I have read the 'build it yourself section' and my question is this.

How hard is it really to install the free float and put everything back together. I haven't done anything like that before and am somewhat reluctant, fearing i will screw up my weapon. Can people chime in that did it for the first time. Or should I just have a gun smith do it. I tend to be very meticulous with my stuff and think if I could do it, I would take greater care than a gun smith would.

I have put on a few of the Yankee Hill lightweight freefloat tubes.  It's not hard to do if you have the tools and are mechanically inclined.  It helps if you read the info online before you tackle it for the first time.  I wouldn't attempt it w/o the correct tools, but with them it's fairly easy *IF* you can get the f'ing pins out of the gas block. Most of those are fairly easy, but I've got one I can't remove the pins.  They won't budge.
