I am wondering how easy it is to remove the free float barrel off my DPMS Bull barreled 16" AR15.  A guy at the gun shop told me to just go to a gunsmith, but I can't imagine it's that difficult to take off.  My reasoning is that I didn't think far enough ahead when I bought it and now realize that I'd like one of those railed tubes so I can put a harris bipod and a handle on the front.  My original free float barrel will have to be drilled if I want to put anything on it and I don't even think I can put a handle on it without jury rigging some kind of rail onto the bottom.

Any thoughts?

Not any different than any other, remove the gas block with the gas tube attached, remove the float tube assembly. DPMS typically use a 2 piece tube, remove the front half (unscrew), and remove the rear,(barrel nut type set-up).
