| How hard is it to swap rails, if I already have a low profile gas block? I want to get either a bcm kmr rail or a troy alpha to replace my RRA trx rail. I don't have any of those fancy tools for AR's, and I honestly don't want to buy any right now. |

Your gas block is going to have to come off, along with your gas tube and barrel nut. Most free floats use their own proprietary barrel nut although some use the standard nut. If you buy something that uses the standard nut, then it's just a rail swap. They also usually come with the wrench to tighten down the nut, but you aren't going to get around having an upper vise or reaction rod and a torque wrench.
Your other option would be to buy the rail you want and find somebody who can help you make the swap, or send to somebody like ADCO to do it for you. |
