I have a dpms low pro upper that I am trying to change to a free float tube. My first problem was that the receiver fixture from Brownells was the old Bushmaster one, second is that I forgot that the DPMS upper is much thicker than a regular one. So my fixture is not holding it right and I can't get the barrel nut loose.

So, couple of questions. Has anyone found the DPMS barrel nuts to be overly tight? The newer Bushmaster fixture that folds over the receiver from the bottom- does anyone know if that will fit the low pro? Has anyone used the DPMS fixture that goes into the upper and not around it- does it work?

Thanks for the help and great instructions on here.

one of those flipper blocks would be best.  i got one off pretty easily with a solid vise and action block.  i like the yhm wrench.

they show one in stock.  dpms has them for $35, but they usually offer free shipping.
