Ok, the vast majority of people are now running their ARs as flattops with some sort of optic and buis these days. As lots already know, the front sight post is often not high enough to properly zero in with buis mounted on A3/A4 flattops. The Colts, Noveskes, LMTs, and other high end brands do have them from what I can tell. My question is why so many companies sell guns with front sight posts that aren't tall enough for the buis's. I had a Wilson barrel put in a Bushy that I zeroed in a few months ago. I was looking at the rifle today and the front sight post is just barely tall enough. The bottom part is sitting barely above the FSB floor with the detent just catching about 3/4 of the way. I didn't even notice this until I read a thread on this topic and looked at my rifle closely. I'm thinking about getting a taller front sight post, but I think the detent's catching on it enough that it won't go anywhere. I can't rotate the post with my fingers. However, I'm really wondering why most companies aren't making their guns with F-marked FSBs with higher sight posts. |

Why? It's not really a big deal and an easy fix. Part 7B www.pkfirearms.com/store/get_alternate_items.aspx?id=64 Also many people still build A2 and A1 rifles. Like you mentioned some rifles can still be zeroed with non F marked FSBs. I'm sure it all depends on what rear sight you're using. |
