Hey guys! I need some clarification on selecting a front sight for my AR. I have a Ruger AR 556, and I just got done removing the A2 front sight and putting a free float rail on it. I have a red dot, but I want to have backup iron sights. If I want to use the stock flip up rear sight, can I use any front flip-up style sight? I just want to make sure that I get one that has the correct height.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

95% of the flip up front sights made for ARs will work. There are oddballs out there made for wierd gas block rail heights, and ones made for HK416s and such, but they will probably be labeled for the intended use.

Yes, any standard height folding front sight will work fine.  I really like Magpul's MBUS Pro, but the regular Gen 2 MBUS will work just fine if you are on a tight budget.

Is your new rail a flush fit (top surface) to the factory upper receiver rail?

Yes it is. I ended up ordering an MBUS.

Thanks for the help everyone!
