Any tips on making the front sight post more visible?   I know I'm getting older and it's getting harder to pick up the front sight.   I don't really want to spend money on replacing the front sight with Trijicon or other front sight.   I usually run an optic, but on a couple of uppers (range uppers) I just run irons.   Like paint or such?

I tried using some red nail polish.  Wow that turned out looking like shit.

Free tip, try to put off getting older as long as you can.

This might not help, but I've been always wearing a baseball hat now so that the sun doesn't light up the rear sight and make the front sight harder to pick up.  That helps me a lot.  But I know where you're coming from.

I just hit my posts with some $1 nail polish.  A coat of while and then whatever color you want (I do a dark red) works great.  Cheap as hell but easy to pick up.  Case in point...

That is a great action shot!

What did you use as the white prime coat?   I had issues with it blobbing using the nail polish. I suppose you didn't?   Any tips?

Meprolight has a night sight set for the AR. I've not tried it, but the front post alone has me kind of interested.
