I made up a cheap jig that works well.
I started off with an old A2 style scope adapter and mounted it to a piece of 1/4 steel that is like 2 feet long. Then I figured about where the front sight should be and drilled out a small groove in the 1/4 plate. Then I took a small hunk of aluminum and ground down the sides until it fit into my FSB but I kept the top flat so it would fit tight to the flat part of the FSB. I also drilled and tapped two holes on either side of the 1/4" hole in the middle to bolt it down to the plate. Then I took an extra front sight and welded it to a 1/4" bolt and ground down the weld. Then I slide the forearm cap and FSB on to the barrel and bolt it to an old A1 or A2 style upper and go for it. I hope this helps someone. |
