List: Sighted my Colt AR in at 200 yds. I set the rear sight 5 clicks up and used the front sight to zero the elevation (at 200 yds). I was a bit low but dead on for windage (no wind) and turned the front sight up a 1/2 turn. Upon firing another 3 round group I found that the group was centered for elevation but went 3-4 minutes left. I "discovered" that the "wiggle" in the front sight caused my windage to move.
Whats the cure for this wiggle? I heard that a set screw can be places under the front sight and then jammed against it. If so does anyone know the thread type or where I can find a set screw?

P.S. When you do pull the front sight post, chuck it up in a drill/lathe and true the post.  You will find that on a few posts, the post is not true with the treads, and when you make the elevation change, the windage changes due to the elongation of the non-trued post.

Also, To raise the shot, you lower the front sight post, not raise it.

I would try a new sight post first. Also insure that the tension detent spring is not stuck.
