Did a search & can't find what I'm looking for. Anyone have a suggestion for getting these co*ksucking pins out????? I have beat, dremeled, torched, & even used a Schuester block, but they aren't coming out.

I might try coaxing them with a bottle of Jack Daniels, no wait, thats for me

Any help/suggestions would be very appreciated......

If by front sight post you meant the standard A-Frame front sight base (FSB) that would mean, in most cases it's held on the barrel with taper pins.  Taper pins usually drive out of the FSB from left to right when you have the rifle shouldered which allows you to remove the FSB from the barrel. You will notice that the head of the taper pin has a small dia. end and a big dia. end you will want to hit the small end with a punch to remove it.

I use a steel punch about twice the size of the taper pin head to get it started then drive it out the rest of the way with a smaller punch.  You may need more than just a framing hammer to hit the punch with, a 2.5lb hammer/small hand sledge works well. When you re-install oil the pins before assembly.

Note: not all FSB's are held on with taper pins. I have a SS Wilson barrel that has straight pins holding on the FSB.

...most Stags taper pins are just the opposite and drive out right to left... as suggested always look for small end to be sure.

the trick is to have a good strudy un moving base that won't give.  Also, set the punch (on the small side of the pins) and then give it a quick and hard WHACK!  If you gently tap-tap-tap or have a base that gives (like on a towel or richety bench) you'll end up peening over the pins and turn them into rivets.

if you've already peened the ends over you can drill them out.  Use the smallest drill bit you got and drill within the pin, making sure to not tough the barrel or FSB.  Basically turning the taper pins into roll pins and then tap them out.  That's what I had to do the first time before I recieved the above advice.

This tool from Brownells makes the job easier.  Even with that tool we had to use a steel punch and a 5 pound sledge hammer to remove the front sight from a my Bushmaster barrel.

I want my fsb gone also.  I can get the pins out but the front sight won't budge, what now?  It's a Bushmaster barrel if that matters.

Bushmaster parkerizes everything assembled so that's probably whats holding the FSB on.  Spray some oil on it and try to twist it to break it free, I had to do this when I first took off my Bushy FSB.  By an off chance take a look at the bottom of the FSB and make sure they didn't put a set screw in one of the bottom holes for some odd reason.

Thanks Daubs, I called BM and there is no set screw.  After spraying WD40 on the fsb and letting it soak in overnight a few blows with a rubber mallet worked.

I'm having the same problem as far as the stinkin pins. I'm trying to remove the fsb on my bushy and it was recently off to swap to a flat top rec so I dont understand why they are so tight. I cant figure out how to keep the blasted sight base from rocking since the pins are off center. I was trying with a larger size punch and a small sledge but with some lighter whacks with no results.
