I was thinking of replacing my front sight until a search brought up other posts that this is not a direct replacement deal, i.e. the pins / gas ports may not line up between different sights and may require more work than just popping pins in and out. It is, for me, a take it to an ARsmith job. |
think he's on to something here yeah i think its too much trouble too thats why mine are still without the lug. i dont think you could effectively use a bayonet lug on your barrel though. adco offers a service where he puts a lug on your existing fsb so you have the look of a no-ban and it will also mount up too. just wouldnt use it to bayonet anything here is a link bayonet lugging |
| After indexing, the front sight assy and barrel are drilled/reamed as one unit so your odds of finding one that lines up is very slim. There are new undrilled front sights if you want to try. Some people use set screws under the sight base instead of dealing with the taper pins but be aware that this does not work too well with bayonets. |
