So how the hell do I get that thing off?? I broke two punches trying to get the pins out. I had to put it away because I am very impatient & the next step is to cut the whole tower off with a grinder. LOL Help please.

Medic:

Well, the next time you remove your FSB in the traditional manner......

1. The FSB / barrel assembly must be supported on a VERY solid, massive surface so it cannot possibly absorb the force of your blows.  You want all the energy going into the tapered pins not your supporting surface.

2.  Be sure you are driving the pin in the correct direction.  From the small diameter side toward the larger diameter side.

3.  Use the largest diameter punch you can.  The tapered pins only have to move a very short distance to loosen up.

4.  Use a big hammer and just get the deed done with one solid blow.  Repeated blows with a light hammer only flatten the end of the pin making it harder to get out.
