I notice people get rail extentions on there ar's to keep the stock front sight. Why not go with a Low pro gas block and use a flip up?
Is the Stock Front sight better then flip up sights or is just a visual pref? |

Bore alignment isn't really an issue. The stock taper-pinned FSB is always going to be the strongest gas block. Many people don't have faith in other types of gas blocks (usually without good reason––just gut feelings and what not). Any properly aligned free-float rail will be more than adequate for use with a rail-mounted front sight.
Remember, if you are trying to decide between a longer FF rail or the strength of a stock FSB, you can always shave down your stock FSB into an incredibly strong gas block to go under a rail. |
