Since having a front grip makes the pistol an AOW, can one install a front sling loop? Similar to the Mac-10 sling loop?

i'm not an expert, but i would think no. it is not a grip, it is not rigid, and it isn't really fixed at an angle to the bore. ymmv, not to be taken as legal advice, etc....
btw, i had the same idea

I've seen pics of guys having exactly what you describe on their pistols.
