I'm picking up a vickers 2 point sling, and need to attach it to a standard fore-end. What type of front sling attachment options do I have? I've seen the USGI barrel mount sling swivel, universal wire loop design, front sight sling adapter, and even thought about just using some 550 cord. This is for a full auto M4 and so barrel attachments are a little iffy due to the heat.
What do you guys suggest? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

daniel defense quick release mount. google it, it will be easy to find. i just got one, and i just got that sling and both are great. But this would require a rail to mount it too. As for my non railed (surefire M500AB) equiped AR, I went with a BLAM mount. Yes its a HK clip mount, noise does not kill me since I am not hunting 2 or 4 legged predators. I like it since it dropped the HK clip and adapter out of the way of the LED lights on the forend I have. I am not a fan of the barrel mounted side mount. It scratches up the barrel, and while I do not care if my weapons look bad, I do care about rust. The sling thing (I was looking at the QD veriosn) put the strap and all the weight of the weapon or when used in a hasty sling against the LED lights on my forend. The blam can be had here http://www.customdefensiveproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=BLAM |
| Thanks for the help so far. I've found a GG&G front sight post "sling thing", but I'm not sure how I feel about mounting anything to the front sight post. Are there risks in mounting something to the front sight post? It seems like a lot of pressure and weight constantly applied to the sight post may damage it. |

You sound like me, I don't like havng things attached to my barrel. Your best bet is to put a Free Float Handguard on it and use a DD or MI sling adapter. |
