Any ideas why the round is getting crushed by the bolt against the feed ramps? (crushing the sides of the case, the round does not protrude from the chamber)
on another forum some stated it is cycling too fast for the next round in the mag to be fully raised before the bolt slides forward. pic |

maybe a short stroke? bottom of the bolt is riding over the case pushing it out of the feed lips of the mag by friction? If the bolt is over the case I do not see how the round could be removed from the mag. The bolt will be over the rond in the mag. When I pull on the charging handle (takes a lot of force since the round is wedged between the bolt and the chamber) the round is extracted - it was stripped from the mag. I do not think it is a short stroke issue since the round is being stripped with significant force. In other failures, no pics, the bullet is hammered down into the case a good couple mm when the round misses and slams into the corner of the chamber. Ps. This is on a pistol with a short buffer tube, which I am now reading is a pile. I like the 3 less inches but maybe it just cannot work. |
