I am new to the Red Dot optic realm. I do know that the bigger names cost more, but you also get what you pay for. At this point in my AR ownership, I do not want to sink $400 or more on an optic that is not running all the time. I have read here that Primary Arms has some descent items and really good CS.
So what is the opinion of https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms_MultiReticle_Red_Dot_Sight_PAM3M_p/pam3m.htm It is only $100. Which makes it a good starting point for me. But as for function, how does it compare to some of the higher end optics? My other no expense option would be the Aimpoint Patrol. Thanks in advance |

There really is no comparing a budget red dot to an Aimpoint. Aimpoint is sooooo much better on every level. Durability, longevity, every aspect of the design and battery life. Over 3 years being on 24/7 and obviously much longer if turned off.
Like any other product out there, sunglasses for instance, you will have junk, inexpensive options, higher quality options and top quality options. I do not know what the reported battery life is on the Primary Arms red dot. I'm sure someone that knows will be along soon. |

I've got one M3 on the high canted mount and one on the high non-cant. The high mount lets you do the lower third co witness. Both work great. I used a magnifier for a while on the cant mount, but didn't care for it. Even without the magnifier, the cant mount works fine.
The micro is on my tacticool ar15 pistol. |
