My buddy bought (3) new Bushmaster 20" HBARs..

loaded them up and they will not strip the next cartridge from the magazine...after a couple of mags of hand cycling..(2) of them worked..

the third one is a problem child...he called BM and they said to hand cycle the rounds as we did before.  They said it would break in and work after a couple of mags.  He put 300 rounds through it by hand...no dice, he brought it to me to check out.  Tried a different lower with different buffer nad spring..and stock to see if it was short stroking...did the same thing.  Tried another lower etc....same thing.

Took off the gas tube to check for a blockage...clean...gas hole was clean as well..

Cleaned everything up and put it back together....still the same thing.  I figured since both of the other lowers were stone reliable, it must be a gas issue....I put my suppresor on it, and it ran fine...even with Wolf.  took it off thinking it might have just needed some more breaking in and ....no dice...same issue

Fires 1st round, then doe not load the second..

any ideas aside from sending it back to BM..

Thanks

Does it lock back on the last round?

From what you are saying it definitly sounds like it's under gassed. It may have fouling in the tube or an undersized/mis-aligned gas port.

If they are new, send them back to Bushmaster. Anything less is a waste of money.

Forgot to mention..

I tried a new bolt and carrier as well...same issue..
then tried my duty carrier...same issue.

I am inclined to think the same ...send them back...all three...

Any other ideas?

Thanks guys

Looks like you've tried everything.  Send 'em back.
