[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Future Aimpoints?

Has anyone heard of anything new coming down the pike from Aimpoint? I'm not talking a variant of an existing model with different color housing or anything... but a true new optic... perhaps a 1x4 or something like that.

At SHOT, all they had was some hunting line dot scopes on the horizon.

Those are still just 1x red dots. They just look a little more like scopes.

I would like to see Aimpoint make something like the Leupold Prismatic, but with longer battery life and a more simple reticle. Or if Leupold would make these adjustments.

They shown their Hunter Series sights at the SHOT Show, which are still 1X and are available with long and short tube lengths, also two available tube diameters 30mm and 34mm.

The new feature that they shown was the push button top controls, who knows they might incorporate it to the next future generation models.

I heard the next models with accept an energy beam from an Aimpoint Satellite, thus making the battery last forever.

Am I the only one that wished they had an brown offering like EOTech & Trijicon do? (& not just rubber covers...)

The new aimpoint willl be the "brainpoint." A red dot optic control package installed in your brain, projecting a red dot in your dominant eye for fast engagements. For the budget market, there will be contacts for the red dot.

I would like to see the metal around the glass become very thin. maybe even a couple of millimeters. That wold be awesome.
