If this is old news--sorry.  Have been looking for a report and haven't seen one, so I'l assume there hasn't been one.

Received and installed the cover assy. today.  Took about ten minutes total.  The metal hood has to be removed from the Eotech sight, and the cover assembly  fitted to the inside of the hood. Once done, the hood is reinstalled on the sight.

The cover assy comprises three pieces.  The two covers which are hard plastic, and the molded rubber cover mating surface which fits inside the Eotech hood.  The cover assembly appears to be symmetric fore and aft, but it isn't, and once that hurdle was crossed, installation was easy. The aft cover doesn't seal properly on one side with the rubber mating surface, but a little judicious shaving with a razor blade will fix that.  The front cover fits perfectly. The instructions are pretty good, but I don't believe pointed out the non-symmetry of the cover assy, which cost me a little frustration.

The covers do not impeded the field of view in any way.  The fwd cover opens straight out parallel with the barrel.  The rear cover folds fwd across the top of the Eotech cover.

The covers are not weather/water proof, but weren't advertised to be.

Weight is negligible.

Covers appear to be of durable construction.

Worth the price ($30)?? I think so. Don't know if the pros would concur but would be curious in that regard.  I had a Scope Coat, and lost that the first time to the range.  The order was processed promptly.  The sale discount was properly deducted.  And they included a red GGG cap! I would order another one if I had another Eotech.
